Just wondering... I have had 3 infusions. While the UC is improved, will my health in relation to Ulcerative Colitis get better with additonal infusions?
I have to say each person's reaction to Remicade can be different. I was diagnosed with UC in 2009 and received infusions for 3 years. remicade treated my UC, but it caused many more health issues due to its side effects, making my overall health much worse. I now have multiple kidney stones ( i have passed 9 since 2009 and the CT Scan showed 13 more inside my kidneys), another side effect i experienced is joint-tissue degeneration- i had shoulder surgery last year to repair 2 torn ligaments and reattach my collar bone with my shoulder, also it has caused severe anemia- making me very fatigued and sluggish. i now have to take iron supplements that cause their own little problems as well. So, Remicade may be your miracle drug but please pay attention to your body and how you feel overtime and remember if you ever have to stop taking Remicade you body will build anti-bodies to resist the medication making it almost impossible to ever take again..
