very painful joints & muscles especially shoulders & hips
Hello roso - what type of thyroid replacement therapy are you receiving??? Your thyroid gland controls so much in the body and the endocrine system is a very complicated system of study. Do you have a good endocrinologist? This doctor should be treating your thyroid condition. Hashimoto Disease is the leading cause of hypothyroidism but is at least treatable. I wish this question was posted as "conversational" because we can only reply once each here. I know you didn't know that but that is what happens when you post asking for "direct". What other treatments are you receiving? How long have you had this condition? You can have all kinds of joint pain if this condition isn't under control. So how are you doing with this all? I would love to help you as I, too, have hypothyroidism. I recommend a book called, "THYROID POWER... 10 STEPS TO TOTAL HEALTH" by Richard Shames, M.D. and his wife Karilee Shames, R.N., PhD. I refer back to this book all the time and have shown my endocrinologist this book as well. There is a section in the back of the book written specifically for doctors. After I read this book and listed all the questions I had for my doctor, she was quite receptive to my questions and interested in the book. Questions get information, information is knowledge and knowledge is power. I am proactive in my care and I hope you are, too.
