I have had numerous operations on account of adhesions and crohns over the years. I also take prescribed painkillers for osteoarthritis. When I was admitted for a complete blockage of my intestines, one of the attending physicians began shouting and yelling at me in the presence of residents that my painkiller usage was causing my adhesions. I have found no relationship in the literature thus far that painkiller usage causes abdominal adhesions. I am totally angry over this.
