Are they still making the real Oxycontin? They gave me the OP's for my prescription and They don't seem to work as good as the original ones? can anybody help?
Hi dgb88, I'm pretty sure that the OP's are the new Oxy. They are tamper-proof, so people can not snort/inject them, it makes them useless if abused.
I just want to let you know that one of our members here had a relative OD on the new OP's. He was abusing them, and took too many, so please be very careful with this med.
Wishing you the best,
No they are not. The OC is being permanently replaced with the OP version. It is now tamper proof and when crushed renders the active ingredient null and void. They just take longer to work so give it more time. As sweetlemon mentioned, a members close friend just died last night because he took more thinking they weren't working.
Please stay safe.
Wow i missed that one guys OMG what happened? where is the post and who was it by? thats horrible. They really need to do that to all the pain meds. here in austin texas we still have the regular OC's so people are still abusing in our state. I agree with christine i dont feel bad for the DD's at all i hope they get put out of business.
I have taken 80 mg of oxycontin for several years and it has worked for me. I see there is a new form of the drug call "op". I have read some of the results and I do not see them as drug I would want to take due to side effects. Do the pharmacys still carry the original oxcytins that I am accustembed to. Thankyou,
