Been on Depo for about a year. My last shot was supposed to be on Jun 17 but I ended up having it 6days late. I asked the gyno office if I should be worried about possibly getting pregnant and use a back up method (on the day I was supposed to get my shot). They said no I did not have to use a back up method of protection against pregnancy because I would have my shot in time and still be protected. They said I would protected even if I had sex with no condom the same day I got my shot 6 days late. Does this sound accurate? It's been about four weeks and I have been bloated the last week on and off but haven't had my period yet and am starting to get paranoid. How long does each shot offer protection for?
