... trouble finding a doctor that could help me since my work comp stopped paying for thing's. No doctor will see me an on top of that I have been taking hydrocodone 10/325 for 15 months at five a day. It all stopped and I can't get any help. What do I do and where do I go for help. I don't know if I can handle all this pain and severe burning. Any one PLEASE respond
Do you not have disability from your job? If not, you could try to apply for medicaid. I know there are alot of cuts in funds, but I understand where you are coming from. That would be my first try. I don't know where you live, but the individual state usually handles medicaid. You can go to your social security office & they can advise you (or call them) what steps to take. When I first applied for disability, they said I could get immediate help, but if denied would have to pay it back. I waited until my state approved me, but in your situation, you need immediate care. I wish you the best & am sure others will be answering soon with more suggestions...
At this point, I would be thinking of going to an ER and telling them that you feel like killing yourself because of the pain. Another name for your problem is "The Suicide Disease". Cancer was the first diease where the FDA approved a morphine pump to kill the pain. RSD is the second disease or condition that got approval for the morphine pump. I couldn't sleep for more than 2-4 hours- looked a thousand years old, blah, blah, blah. Just go for it. You have nothing to lose, but pain. I had all sorts of medical resources and went through it trying to find something that worked. You'll find most ER doctors sympathetic- express what you feel-tell them you can't sleep-that you can't do what ever-tell them that you can't take anymore. You're not going for the Academy Award- you're going for your life.
I went through this myself several years ago. My advise to you is get an attorney. There are attorneys that specialize in this kind of thing, in every state, some are fly by nights, don't get one of those. An attorney will help you get treatment. You can also get an ombudsman from the state Work comp board to help you fight for your rights, everyone deserves representation. An attorney will work on contengency, if you get paid so will they, if you don't neither will they. So no out of pocket money. There is an online pharmacy that will get your meds for you, IWP,(Injured Workers Pharmacy) if work comp pays, they will cover the expense so you don't have to. Good luck.
Have you tried a pain management clinic? I've found that those are typically the only places these days that aren't afraid to prescribe you the meds that will really find you the relief you need and deserve. Every other place seems to me scared witnessing being fined or in trouble with the DEA. Which is so sad,as doctors more and more are scared to do they're jobs because of the threat of going to jail or losing they're license. Very, very sad indeed =(
