... tends to increase feelings of being tired. any insight appreciated
Was it your doctor that reccomended it? It does help you sleep at night if taken at bedtime. They usually start you on a low dose of 25mg. that's usually not enough to make you more tired all of the time. Once you get used to the effects they may want to increase it, but a small dose will just help you sleep at night so you feel more refreshed in the daytime... Mary
hi markjevo, mary is 100% right. elivil in a low dose may make you feel tired for a few days.taken at night just before bedtime will help you get 8 hours of great sleep. at least your body will.but when you take it be readt to go right to sleep, because it has a small window of time that it will put you to sleep. when i was on it i would take it and put mt head on a pillow. next thing you know is its morning. you get dry mouth from elivil but keep mints or a bottle of water with you during the day. your appitite will come back and you dont have them up n down days.good luck and give it a try.let us know how you feel after a few days... pete
