This prescription states on bottle: "Avoid prolonged or excessive exposure to direct sunlight and/or artificial sunlight while taking this medication". Since past prescriptions did not have this warning, is this specific to Amneal? I live on a lake and in the sun A LOT! What is the repercussion of being in the sun for long periods of time with this medication?
No, they just didn't put the sticker on before. You can burn more easily when taking medications that do this. Many medications do this.
Being out in the sun and sweating a lot on this medication can also lead to electrolyte imbalances. Avoid becoming overheated or dehydrated during exercise and in hot weather. Follow your doctor's instructions about the type and amount of liquids you should drink. In some cases, drinking too much liquid can be as unsafe as not drinking enough.
Symptoms of any electrolyte imbalance--dry mouth, increased thirst, drowsiness, lack of energy, restless feeling, confusion, nausea, vomiting, increased urination, muscle cramps or weakness, fast heart rate, little or no urinating, or feeling like you might pass out.
