I been having anxiety in 2014. I really started feeling it the end of 2015 all of 2016 every month and all of 2017 now it last for about 7-9 days and it will go away for 1,2, 3 weeks rarely and come back again on and off for those years. I can't go to work. I can't go to the gym - can't leave my house. I can't do anything. It feels like I am doomed. I don't want to be round people anyone. I get all stiff. I am not sure if that's what anxiety does but it makes me look like a zombie. I got put on Paxil last month (April 2017) and have been taking it for about 5 weeks and I still will have anxiety attacks so I take Zoloft now 25mg barely started it yesterday (May 17, 2017). How long does it take usually to take away my anxiety? Is this really is the right medicine for me?
Most the symptoms you described are from anxiety. It is a difficult disorder to have. It can take 2-6 weeks for the Zoloft to get into your system. You may want to ask your doctor for something temporarily to take for the anxiety/panic attacks until the Zoloft kick in.
You will know if it is the right medicine when your symptoms start to fade and get better. You may want to consider therapy as well.
I hope it works for you soon.
I've suffered from Anxiety and Panic disorder since the age of 18.. Now I'm 36 years old. It is a struggle!! Yes, it can make you feel so weird and you will feel physical syptoms from Anxiety or Panic attacks.. Medication has always helped me. Paxil was actually the first medication I was put on.. I was off medication the past two years and was under a ton of stress last year 2016 and started back to square one of having severe panic attacks where I'd end up at the ER at least 15 plus times thinking I was dying or having a heart attack.. I knew it was Panic attacks but didn't have insurance at the time and they make you feel like you are dying.. I couldn't handle having them everyday, serveral times a day so I found a pschciatrist and paid cash because I knew I had to go back on medication. My doctor started me on Zoloft 50mg.. It does take time to start working Weeks. After 8 weeks of being on 50mg I was not really getting panic attacks but still some anxiety. My doctor just increased my dose to 100mg once a day, 2 weeks ago. I am also taking xanax to help with the anxiety and to help adjust to the medication.. I'm still getting anxiety to this day.. but I am able to leave my house, go places, go to work etc. I will be seeing my doc again in a couple of weeks to see what he will do about still having anxiety. I know how you feel, I don't wish this on anyone- I will say to stick with the medication and give it time to work, unless you feel rare side effects..
