I so freak out with side effects so nervous. I also take 200 mg Zoloft per day. Anxiety is high due to family illness. Recently got off Klonopin then tried Wellbutrin which I hated. Any soothing thoughts on side effects? Thanks
If you take it correctly and titrate up slowly, you should do fine. You may experience some mild discomfort, headache, dizziness in the beginning, but this should clear up quickly. Remember to always take it with food or always take it without food, but don't flip back and forth sometimes taking with food and sometimes without. This keeps the blood level more steady.
I've taken buspirone for almost six years with no short or long term side effects and it has worked beautifully for my anxiety disorders.
I take it with 8 other medications with no interactions... you can check all your medications with the Drugs.com Interaction Checker.

To say that Buspar does nothing, when many people are helped so much with it, is something that might scare off people who might be helped by it if their doctor suggests prescribing it for their anxiety. When my doctor first suggested buspar to me, it was a medication that I had never tried for anxiety before. Buspar has worked wonderfully well for me! I have stopped it a time or two in the last 3 years and each time I go back to it, I get relief from my anxiety/panic attacks. I forget that I am even taking it, as far as side effects are concerned, they are minimal and disappear pretty quickly.
