I was diagnosed with Hep C about 5 years ago, Genotype 2. I am stage 2 and have been approved for treatment with Sovaldi/Ribaviran combo. Anyone have any advice, what side affects to expect?
For side effects for the drugs individually see links below
Good luck with your treatment
Product information is a good place to start but my experience tells me that if you line up 10 people on combo therapy they will all complain of side effects but all will have different ones with quite varying severity. Sadly the one that everyone shares with Ribavirin is fatigue ranging from general tiredness to almost total exhaustion. Sadly there is no way to know in advance what you will get.
Always remember that almost no one discontinues treatment due to side effects ragardless. You know when treatment will end so that's a plus and keep a positive attitude; eyes on the prize. :)
Wishing you all the best and hopes for SVR.
Just finished with 24 week treatment (SOLVALDI &RIBAVIRIN) for Hep C. Other than my skin being a little dry, I suffered none of the known side effects. Eat exceedingly healthy, drink plenty of water, get proper rest, and take your medication as instructed. I'm negative for Hep C and praying within the next 3 months of monitoring, it is cured. My prayers are with you, you can do this!
