I read that Ability should only be taken for six weeks. Is this a fact???

Hi, Jim! For what it's worth, my psychiatrist kept me on Abilify for over four years until it lost it's effectiveness which often happens with long term use of psychotropic medications. Schizophrenia, Bipolar disorder, Schizoaffectuive disorder, Major Depressive disorder, etc., don't go away after six weeks.

I think you'll find that many people here have taken Abilify long term with good results and no ill effects.

No. Abilify is taken long term to control symptoms associated with many mental health conditions. Not sure where you read this, but I would double check the source.

I was on Abilify for a few years. It is a maintenance medication. You can also ask your doctor and pharmacist.
