I accidently received 2 Influenza vaccines in 30 days, one with preservative and one without... the second one... I'm afraid has given me a reaction... burning rash, chills, burning/tickling ears, throat and most horrible swelling of eyes and throat... I feel like I drank Laundry Detergent! It burns in my lungs like soap, all in my nose and ears but my eyelids got thick red and inflamed like thick cut raw bacon... it kicked in suddenly about 5 hours afterward..and my injection side upper arm swelled and entire upper arm bright reddish purple blotchy and my RIGHT arm the non-injection one has been pins and needles constantly stinging and vibrating like for 5 days now... any input? I'm on a fixed income and want to wait this out rather than be medically treated.
You were building antibodies to the first one when you got the second. I believe your body is reacting to the shot, the way it would if you had the flu. As far as the local reaction on your arm, I got my flu shot a week ago, and I got that hard red hot knot too. Its still there a tad bit. How did you end up with 2 shots? Try some aspirin or ibuprofen for your discomfort. If it goes on real long you're going to have to see your dr.
IF you've swelling of the throat, you NEED to be seen by a doctor ASAP, this sounds like a bad allergic reaction to me! Yet, you've gotten two answers from this site's brightest nurses, so perhaps they are right and I'm making too much of this? Not sure, I suppose tis up to you to decide.
I wish you the best,
