Caught my 17 yr. old son with 25 small, white, round hydromorphone hcl pills. He X'd out dosage amount but guess to be 4 mg. or more according to PDR. He won't tell me anything more. What are effects on him? How much is he paying on the street for them? How many would he be taking to get his high? I've never seen him "stoned" before so don't know what to look for. He's a big kid @ 6' & 250#. Are these pills bad enough to have his blood tested?
Wow its a good thing you caught that jeez i wonder how long he has been taking them. So normally opiate medication as such fall in the catagory in the range of 4-5 dollars a piece or more. Has he given an explaination as to why he is taking these? who turned him on to them? do you know his friends well or anyone in the family taking this medication? He may be taking only enough not to get him too messed up for you to notice how did you come across these? This medication is similar to morphine and can be very addicting you need to seek him medical attention immediatly suddenly stopping use can cause him to have severe withdrawls. I hope this helped you some good luck dad.
I take a perscription of 4mg every 4 hours as needed. This is a very strong class 2 narcotic. Very illegal to have it without a presription. If he has been taking it and is addicted you need medical help it is a very strong drug and can have severe withdrawls. Hydromorphone is the generic for Dilaudid, most commonly used in the E.R. for severe pain.
