I have a 4mm stone in the middle of my kidney. The doctor will go in and get it with a scope so I don't have to try to pass it. I will have a stent put in and removed 4 days later for kidney stone surgery. I will be on rapaflo, an alpha blocker meant to relax the urinary system to help severe pain from renal colic after the stent is removed. I guess swelling and blood clots can clog the ureter just like a stone can and it's the worst pain a human can endure.

How effective is rapaflo for that. Will the pain still be bad and it will take the edge off, or will it actually prevent the ureter from spasm and it won't be that bad?
