Does anyone know anything about radio frequency shots. I have been advised by my doctor that they shoot a surge of electricity to burn the nerve. Any helpful information? I am scheduled for a radio frequency to my SI joint. I have had surgery, shots, medication, trigger point injections and I have had this history for over 6 years. I am desperate to stop this pain. Can anyone tell me of their experience. Thank you

Had the shots done and although there was some swelling and a little pain on day three, I am feeling a lot better than with the pain I had before. Read up on this and it sound scary but so far so good. The doctor included extra shots to the other side of the nerve along with a two more cortisone shots for my hip and although today I am a little stiff for the most part, relatively pain free (pain scale 2-3 max compared to the 9-10 I was having).

Day 7 Looks like shots worked. Back pain has subsided although the shots (cortisone) seem to need more work. Doctor talked about Botox shots. Don't know much about this but will investigate.

I have got to add that what ever they did worked. My back pain is virtual completely gone. I have other pain in my back from metal but not the same pain I had before this radio frequency procedure. I know the nerve will grow back but so far no pain.
