Hi- Did anybody tell you to open your mouth as much as possible and close it 20 times and to do that 4 X a day to fight arthritis? I hope that you were told, and you are doing it. It has helped me immensely. Radiation affects the muscles, where they don't want to move-and the bone. It's not too late to do this. I sympathize with you, but there are things that can be done. I'll probably be doing the exercises the rest of my life, but they work. The pain is caused by the jaw joint by the ears, TMJ--It can affect your ears too, wear you are prone to ear infections--that's me-but the surgery on my nose and mouth caused that. I went in before radiation to document what the real problem is. I'm hoping for plastic surgery-I don't care if they put in a green and purple nose. I just want to breath well and not get ear and sinus infections. Good luck and open and close your mouth.
Hi, I am 6 weeks out from 35 rads and 8 chemos. At my worst I had a 25 mg fenyl? Patch and 10-325 every four hours. The dr said I could go on a stronger patch but no more hydro because of the 325 consideration. As for the patch it helped a lot. I agree with the person who said to exercize your jaw, also drink as much water as you can down.
