I started taking 50 mg seroquel xr 5 days ago as a add on to my celexa 30 mg. So far it has helped some with the crying and depression but I still have high anxiety and some agoraphobia. I can leave the house but I stay anxious and when I return home I start thinking and worrying about leaving again. Psychiatrist said I can go up to 100 mg after a week. Plus he gave me Valium 5mg as needed which I haven't started yet. I also have a psychologist for CBT. When will I get better?
50 mg of Seroquel is not much. The usual dose for an adult is 600 mg. That's with and without other drugs. Don't be surprised if it takes a few weeks. The 1st time I took 25 mg of Seroquel it knocked me out for hours... all night long. It's got a very strong sedative effect. I got used to it very fast, though. The XR formula will extend it's effects into your daytime. The waiting is tough, I know.
