I had a pet scan in april & the mass on my kidney has shrunk from 8.7 cm to 5.3 cm & oncologist said it appears to be dead in the middle & also does not appear to be in lymph nodes or nodules of my lungs any longer... goin back in 2 months for another pet scan... hoping for more good news then...
Those are some impressive "tumor shrinkage" numbers donnameg. You have a strong list of positives in your update. Good for you ! My wife and I are battling her Soft Tissue Sarcoma with Votrient and after a couple weeks of the medication @ a lower dose of 400mg per day, we too have some positives to report. Her pain level is down to a point where she doesn't need quite as many pain meds to help her make it through the day..This new revelation comes with the added bonus of less constipation. So that's a welcome relief, but on the flip side of that, she has lost her appetite and most foods taste bland to her. As a result of this, she now weighs 87lbs. We/she weighed 103 lbs. when we left the hospital a mere 3 weeks ago. This is a very alarming side effect of Votrient. Has anyone experienced this problem and, if so, to what degree was the weight loss? If I may please ask?
Hi donnamig, I was very interested in your update posted 22 May. 2012. I was diagnosed with rcc in July 2013. Have been taking Votrient since August. Had right kidney removed. Lung tumours have shrank from 12mm to 6.5mm and 15mm to 10.6mm. Liver tumours from 50mm to 39.8 and 20mm to 18mm. No unmanageable side effects. How is everything going for you now? Would love to receive a current update. I am sure it will be positive.
