I'm very nervous about getting this. I'm 15 and i was on the depo shot and made me gain loads of weight. The only thing im worried about is the whole period thing. As I have read its seems to be different on different people. Any suggestions?

First off its great that you are using birth control! My daughter who is 17 now had a baby at 16.. its been quite a struggle for her as she has severe asthma and loads of health problems. Being her age we read all we could read about BC options because she is forgetful about her meds, esp her iron. She had the implant put in about 3 months ago.. not sexually active again as far as I know but seems to be doing well. I know her period the first go round was early, I think she is having hers again. But its 3 weeks so not bad. I think it was our best shot to carry her at least 3 years before risking another pregnancy. The average weight gain on her paperwork says like 2-3 pounds a year. I haven't noticed any change in her weight but she has lost a little due to having the baby. I recommend it. The office visit was fast and went over all the upz an downs. Like I said so far her period is not so bad, they were prior to getting it. Good luck and hope this helps.
