i often wake up in the middle of a good sleep with my jaws ( i mean right where the bottom meets the bottom) the joint and immediate area burn and tingles but not a good tingle it painful. i have to slap my face and massage that area for relief. sometimes it sends the pain all of it to the other side of my face. i also have four molars that need to be removed because they are all broken up and i am broke. but its not the molars close to these joints of the mandible, like where my wisdom teeth where located its farther back than that. i dunno if its a side effect or not. ive tried reading the side effects of the medications i take but i get confused easily and like the D>C> crew to explain it to me in a way i can understand. good health my friends and thanks for being there for me... john
Sounds to me more like TMJ pain. When your jaw doesnt meet up properly this can happen (and with bad molars, chances are your bite is off ) also many people clench their teeth at night (or grind them) I wouldnt be surprised if you are not clenching in your sleep which causes the TMJ (temporal-mandibular joint) and surrounding muscles to lock and spasm. Do you have any clicking or popping noises in your jaw when you open and close or chew or have trouble opening your jaw wide open? Are any of your teeth wearing unevenly? If yes to either or both it is probably TMJ disorder. This can be treated by your dentist with muscle relaxants and a mouth piece to wear at night.
I agree with my friends here. Medication is not as likely as the condition of the teeth.
Being short on cash isn't always an issue. Ask your social worker, do you have one because it sounds like you could, if there are free clinics or dentists that provide service for little or no charge. Around here they are at least twice per year for the area. You can be cared for with a little work. I know you aren't too confident yet to get out, but not treating bad teeth will make you very ill. Google it. :-)
