My girlfriend went on Yasmin 2 months ago. She started her second pack last Monday. We had condomless sex last Friday. On Monday, she took her pill (8th pill of second pack) and woke up to severe abdominal pain on Tuesday early morning. She said that she vomited a little, but nothing came out. Tuesday afternoon, she got diagnosed with acute appendicitis. I do not know if she can still take her Yasmin after this. Also, is there a chance she'll get pregnant from having sex last Friday? She usually takes her pill at 10:30pm.
Question about birth control pills?

yes, she needs to let them know she is on birth control so they can give it to her in the hospital. If she is put on any antibiotics though or was given any during surgery, she has to use back up protection (condoms and spermicide) for any sex that occurs while she is taking antibiotics and for seven days after the last dose. She should not have sex until they say it is okay for her to resume sex after her surgery so it will likely be a few weeks before she should have sex again. She should ask her Drs when it is okay for her to resume sex again. She was covered for the sex you had on Friday. As long as she didnt vomit within 30 minutes after taking the pill, it was absorbed. If she misses any pills, she should not have sex until she has taken 7 active pills again. Be sure not to push for sex until the doctor says that she is physically well enough after surgery to resume sexual activity. You could hurt her.
