this is a question about long half lives inmedications. for instance klonopin has a long half life. If you crush it into powder and take it does it last the same amount of time and the half life stay the same?
hi aaron, Crushing a klonopin or any medication for that matter does not change its half life. The only time you would see that rule become important is when you see a warning on your RX label that indicates that the pill may not be crushed or chewed, you will see that warning on most time release medications, as well. As strange as it sounds I think everybody has a "favorite" when it comes to a different drug company's taste, looks and effectiveness or perhaps you get used to a particular brand and don't like to see ot changed. I think almost everybody feels that way about one drug company vs. another. Fall Queen
