I had sex without a condom and I'm 4 days late on my period. Today I noticed that I was spotting. I did take a home pregnancy test and it came up negative could I be pregnant?
If the pregnancy test was negative, it is unlikely you are pregnant but still possible. Give it another week or two and do another if still no period. Did you use emergency contraceptives like Plan b? If you did then they almost always cause delayed periods. If you didnt you can either wait and do another test in a week or so (and use the very first morning void so the urine is most concentrated) or you can see your gynecologist for a blood test and if it is negative, you can talk about getting on a hormonal birth control like the Pill. Then you wont have to worry. I'm guessing since you are spotting you will start soon. Stress about being pregnant has the effect of holding your period back. Our minds are powerful things!
I hope and pray for your sake that you are not pregnant if you're not ready for your whole life to change drastically!
I will pray for you!
In the future, I have found this information on Plan B birth control for the day after unprotected sex:
"What is Plan B?
Plan B tablets contain the medicine levonorgestrel, a female hormone that prevents ovulation (the release of an egg from an ovary). This medication also causes changes in your cervical mucus and uterine lining, making it harder for sperm to reach the uterus and harder for a fertilized egg to attach to the uterus.
Plan B is used to prevent pregnancy after unprotected sex or failure of other forms of birth control (such as condom breakage, or missing 2 or more birth control pills).
Plan B may also be used for other purposes not listed in this medication guide."
I copied this information from this drugs.com website by conducting a search by typing Plan B birth control in the search box at the top of this (and every )page on DC.
Good luck to you.
I hope this helps!
