Hello salee1914. I agree in that you are addicted. Xanax is a difficult drug to have to stop taking when it is time to do so. I can only recommend a detox or hospital. I am being very serious. The withdrawls can be extremely dangerous. As you mentioned one without the drug and it is a battle. Regards, pledge
I agree with Pledge, and addition you ought to check professional help for that reason the symptothat you mentioned it is withdrawal no doubt about that. Xanax is a controlled substance addictive any with drug any... anti-anxiety medications.
Is there a chance you can apply for the medical card to see a regular doctor. I don't know how Canada how they operates in getting medical assistantance? When and if you get a doctor, in my personal opinion I wouldn't come out saying that you have been on Xanax for 10 years or however you word it. Don't make any preferences with certain meds.
I wish you well.
Hi Friend, I have been through what your going through but with valium. Believe what the other folks have said. Its an emergency, you must go into treatment where professional's, Dr's, etc can help you . I had gran mal seizures coming of valium I could have died. I know getting treatment is a mental health issue which has a stigma to it even today. However please seek out professionals. saucerman
I know that this response is not timely and I sincerely hope that you have received some help. I wanted to reiterate what saucerman posted as someone who dealt with severe withdrawal issues. I was taking 10 mg of Xanax per day (prescribed) when an irresponsible Dr could not be reached to refill my scrip. 36 hours after I took my last pill I also had a severe grand mal seizure. The paramedics and ER doc told me that most people would have died from a seizure as long and severe as the one that I experienced. This stuff is no joke. Regardless of how you started taking it, medical supervision is critical during the withdrawal and should only be done under the direct care of a Dr. I empathize with your situation and hope that you are seeking some help. Best wishes.
Hi Salee, I hope you are doing better & got the help you need. I was on Xanax for 5 years (10mg three times a day). when the doc & I decided to have me come off them, we started by cutting one dose in half for a week the deleted a dose & so on. I am glad I was doing it with a Docter. If you haven't gotten any help PLEASE do so AS SOON AS POSSIBLE. Keep us posted if you can!!!
