My doctor said that my body metabolizes this medication quickly. But he still wants me to try 25 mg of Zoloft, so he says I shouldn't have any side effects. I recently lost my mother and found out my husband was having an affair. So I really need something to help me, I'm on Xanax and he also prescribed Zoloft just don't know if I should even try it if my body is going to kick it out quickly. Can anyone relate??
I don't see any reason for why you shouldn't give it a try. If you don't like how it makes you feel just stop. I'm wondering if you were depressed before your mother passed away and you found out your husband is having an affair. If you weren't depressed before all this none of the AD meds may help. What I mean is it's normal for you to feel depressed right now. Nevertheless, you might as well try Zoloft. But I also think you should try to get into counseling or therapy. I think having someone to talk to right now will help.
I just want to tell you 1 more thing. Be careful with Xanax. I think it's a great drug but if you take it daily for 3 months or more you will become physically dependent on it. But if you skip 3 or 4 days a week that shouldn't happen. Just be careful.
I am sorry to hear about your mother and your husband having an affair . I've been through both it is heartbreaking. I as well take Xanax and Zoloft 200 mgs a day it does help but everybody is different. I take Xanax for anxiety, panic attacks, zoloft for depression. I hope this helps you. Peace
