I was talking to a friend tonight and she told me if I don't get my panic attacks under control they could lock me away. This really scares me.I go to the doctor the 16th and now afraid to say how really bad I'm feeling.I was given a few 0.5 xanax but nothing by my reg doctor. Please what should I do. :(
The only way that you could be admitted to an impatient phsyciatric facility against your will is if a doctor deems you a danger to yourself or others. You are doing the right thing by going to a mental health doctor. In order to get better you absolutley need to tell your doctor the truth about exactly what is going on with you. The Doctor needs a complete picture in order to figure out the best treatment for you. You would not be doing yourself any favors by holding back.
One last thing... You might want to politley ask your friend to please stop giving you any further advice on the topic of your panic attacks. Making you worry certainly can't be helping matters.
Good Luck on the 16th. If things get too bad before then you could go to the ER for help. Sincerely-Taller
Hello REDDWOLFF. It will take several doctors to beable to have you Baker Acted. Two I believe. As I said earlier in a previous answer to you, take your Xanax as perscribed. If you feel you are at a point where you can't truly cope, have someone take to to the er. Theres nothing wrong with asking for help. If the doctors feel strongly that its best you stay awhile, because you need some help, thats fine. Theres no shame in that. You're number one and you above all else come first. Best regards, pledge
