For almost a year, I have had terrible recurring UTIs. I had an ultrasound that showed a bladder thickening. Then I had a urogram, which did show this and showed nothing abnormal. I also had a cysto and everything is fine. They usually don't find bacteria in my urine, however, with antibiotics I usually feel so much better. I will be taking an antibiotic every day from now on. I also am looking for a 2nd opinion. Does anyone else have any advice for me? I just do not know why I get them so much and there seems to be no real answer.
I would call around to Urologists in your area and see if there are any "experts" in Intersistial cystitis - then go have a work up with them. Sounds a lot like IC - seems there might be a bacteria out there that we just don't have the ability to diagnose. My opinion maybe, but there are a lot of us living on antibiotics. Just nothing "severe" shows up, or doesn't show up unless cultured for several days. There are some docs culturing them for 10 days or so, and infections do show up. Anyway, if you're treated for IC you'll get the most modern medicine can treat you for - at least for what we can detect right now - EJ23
