I’ve got several mental illnesses and it’s been affecting my sleep pattern for almost five months. I’m very tired and my eyes hurt but I can’t fall asleep. I’ve tried Nytol pills, hot malted drinks, soothing music. Nothing is working and it’s starting to make my depression rise. I’m losing weight because where I’m so tired, I’m not hungry. I can’t do any day to day activities because I’m so drained. I just want to feel normal and healthy again
You might consider getting some fresh air during the day. Sorry it doesn't help you right now but in the past it's helped me. Especially if the air outside is a semi-cold crisp air.
Also, I have a sleep mate machine. It helps block outside noise.
Finally, try to turn your brain off at least an hour before bed. Try not to pay bills or watch TV. Disassociate yourself from anything that might stimulate your brain. Also, refrain from exercising at night.
Finally, try to do some deep breathing. I know it sounds corny but it has helped me in the past. What it does is it lowers your blood pressure sooner rather than later.
Best of luck
Hi Sleepy. I have problems sleeping too and I know that it can change a person. I’ve tried many things to help; but nothing seems to help much. I’ve heard that Vitamin B12 will help so I’ve started taking it. One thing that I’ve started taking is Sleep-eze and it helps a lot! I don’t think it’s supposed to be taken long term; but it might help you get through this until you find something different. Please take care and best wishes to you.
