I had my thyroid removed 9 months ago. My levels have always been low so doctor has made my dose higher. But my test this month said my thyroid level was 16 and should only be about 4. So my doctor raised my levothyroxin from 125 mcg to 175 mcg, is this right?
I wish I knew the answer,I've been taking thyroid medication for around 15years. I haven't had surgery yet, thank god... knock on wood. Someone will answer this for you real soon,I hope. Maybe my leaving this answer will help get others attention. I too, think the dose would've gone down instead of up,but we're not the doctors. Don't worry,it makes things worse and doesn't help. U could call any drug store/pharmacy and ask them about it... if you're not wanting to call your doctor's office. Give me an update? Sincerely, Faith
