I get this question is probably asked a lot, but I have had mixed suggestions. My period finished this past Wednesday. My boyfriend and I had a great time on Friday and I made him finish. I started BC today (Sunday), and don't think I was in my fertile stages so soon after my period but I want to be sure. Should I consider taking Plan B just in case ?
Most women who have regular monthly periods ovulate around 13th to 17th ish day of their menstrual cycle. Day 1 is the first day of your period.
However, your cervical mucus changes in consistency so that it can save sperm you have entered your vagina up to a week before ovulation, ready for the day of ovulation itself.
By the days you've given me, that puts you in the danger zone.
Plan B is useless after 3 days/72 hrs, so you'd either need the other pill called Ulipristal Acetate or to have an IUD fitted by a doctor. Either of those things can be effective if done within 5 days/120 hours of the unprotected sex.
You don't have long to act.
