So last night my bf and I were sexually active. This morning I used the restroom and I saw a tiny bit of blood on the tissue (like when a period is about to start). We had in mind, to buy the morning after pill. I'm well aware the pill is bad for the body, this was stupid of us and I'm also planning to visit a OBGYN soon so I can get on birth control. My question was, should I still take the pill if there's a chance my period will start?
Unless you are sure that the blood is your period starting, & your periods are always on time, then you would be sensible to use emergency contraception of some sort, if you do not want a pregnancy.
If you are not due to get your period, & are a couple of weeks before it, then you are likley to be fertile, in which case you are better asking for the other pill, called Ulipristal Acetate, or having an IUD fitted by a doctor. Plan B does not help if you are ovulating.
Yes, you should absolutely take the morning after pill. That blood is not necessarily your period. Perhaps, use condoms until you are one week on birth control to be most protected. The pull out method is not fully effective whatsoever. I do not mean to sound judgmental, but protective instead. Good luck to you. Take care and be well.
