I got my IUD Mirena inserted in Monday morning. My bf accidentally came inside me last night. Do I need to get a plan B? I hear mirena isn't effective until 7 days after insertion. Please help!
Even if your BF hadn't ejaculated inside of you, you can still get pregnant from pre-ejaculate. If you've been having unprotected sex all week without him ejaculating in you, you could still get pregnant, so I'd definitely take emergency contraception. If that is the case, then EllaOne will be better than Plan B, as it covers you for up to 5 days(120 hours) after the unprotected sex, whereas Plan B is just 3 days (72 hours).
If you were on your period when you had the coil inserted, then you were covered straight away. Otherwise, it would be 7 days you'd need to use extra protection.
