My girlfriend and I have been dating for a year. I was her first. And I've had other partners. Always protection. Just last week she didn't feel well. So we assumed a UTI. We went to an urgen care and they didn't think herpes. They just thought it was an infection. They gave us an antibiotic. She took one dose and fell asleep for a couple hours. My mom advised us to take her temperature after a dose and she had a fever. I took her to the ER. and she went through 2 bags of IV fluids. And she was tested for a couple things. I guess they ruled out a yeast infection and UTI. We're waiting for the blood tests. But the doctor thinks it's herpes. Because she does have bumps. But my question is, I don't have any symptoms or have ever had an outbreak. As far as I know I do not have herpes. But since we've been dating, prob 9 months of our relationship we haven't used protection just BC. So is it possible for her to get symptoms after 9 months of sex, now? We're just confused. Because neither of us has cheated. I heard something about being asymptomatic, but again, 9 months of sex, and nothing. So could this be something else. Or...
Men can often be asymptomatic for years. I used to know a person (a player) who deliberately infected girls "it's no big deal". On him it hardly even showed but I've seen a couple of his ex girlfriends over the years taking pretty small steps.
Sorry to sound negative but maybe the BF should get tested anyway? He'll show antibodies and such even if asymptomatic.
