So i have pcos and have had my period 3 months. And everytime i jave had sex the last 6 months i bleed. So went to the doctors. She gave me. Pap smear and got a phone call stating i have a bacteria vaginal infection. The gave me metronidazole 500mg x2 tablets. 4x a day for 5 days. But when i got my pills says nothing about a bacteria infection on them just some extra paperwork abput not sharing and some information about trich? Um ok? . And everything ive read online is freaken me out that i have and sti.and that my husband needs to be treated for it. Ive been with him 7 years and no one else. Help please
Hi Blues, ignore what you have read so far, you do not have an STI, you have a bacterial infection that could happen to anyone. Your husband is not in danger as you don't have Trichomoniasis which is a parasitic infection that is transferred through sex. Metronidazole is just a nice broad spectrum antibiotic that is useful for vaginal infections of a number of varieties.
Take care and in 6 days it will just be a memory.
