So I struggle with majorly bad anxiety. For a year I took Zoloft and it was great! I convinced myself I didn't need it anymore, which was a huge mistake, so I stopped taking it. It's now 9 months later and I just started taking Zoloft again (50 mg) I'm just scared that I'll never return to my old self. Is there any hope for me?
Six months ago I would have told you "hell no." But after finally finding the right mix of meds I'm doing great. I'm on lexapro and lamictal and was diagnosed mixed mood
It sounds like you are way ahead of the game! You seem to have found an antidepressant that worked for you! So many folks go through multiple ssris before hey find the right one. I've been in your shoes and believe me it can and will get better. I'm not sure about your insurance situation but if you are able to see a pdoc and do some cognitive therapy it can help you learn to deal with situations that produce anxiety. Good luck my friend!
Yes! Never give up. There are so many choices for psych meds these days that even if it takes a few tries people can find relief for their depression, anxiety, bi polar, etc. If Zoloft work well for you before it should work well for you again, it just needs to work back into your system, but if it doesn't, don't give up, there is something out there that will, just be open and honest with your doctor.
