I am on percocet x 8 per day for chronic pain and lyrica for nerve damage... I have nyquil on hand... may I take it?
Darling, the doctors at Ft. Riley, Kansas dispensed a good remedy for flu and colds. They called it the Ft. Riley Cure, and it works good enough that the USNH San Diego made a hand out during the 1960s with the recipe. It got Navy doctors and corpsmen back on their feet during a bad flu out break in about 1966. I know one corpsman died from the flu. My husband found him in a coma. The whole family got it, and the Navy had a printout of cold and flu remedies, we got worse-I bought a bottle of rum, honey and a bag of lemons. In 48 hours my husband was back on duty in 48 hours. The head doctor in his section called me, and tried it. He got on his feet, and they made the printouts and handed them out to everybody. One cup of hot strong tea or coffee-tea is better. 1-2 tablespoons of honey, the juice of half of a fresh large lemon, stir and drink. It breaks up the congestion, etc. Improved Ft. Riley Cure is rum for tea or Southern Comfort for coffee. 1/2 of a teaspoon for children, 1 Tablespoon for adults. I add it on as an afterthought, because so many people can't take alcohol with their meds. There's also the issue of driving.
