Before I went on warfarin I brused easily, not even knowing why I had got some of them but since being on 5mg warfarin a day and an inr of 2.2 I don't bruise anymore a couple of weeks ago I fell down the stairs and hurt my hip and knee I was in so much pain I had to go to casualty, it was 4 days before I could even put any weight on it,I was sure that I would be black and blue over a large area but not even one tiny bruise has come out. I banged my head on the corner of a chest of draws and I got a big bubble on my temple straight away then it just went leaving a 2inch circle of yellow
I understand your confusion - I think because I am conscience of bruising potential that I don't get as many of the "what did I do to get that" bruises. I also have had some hard "collisions" expecting large bruises and none appear but the small superficial ones can bleed like "a stuck pig". I always wonder if it is because the hard hits start deeper and maybe seal themselves off and our bodies reabsorb the blood before gets to surface?
Anyway - I have no idea :-) but just wanted to let you know you are not alone.
