According to my PDR all SSRI work the same... How true is that?! I ask because I am still having anxiety everyday and instead of switching SSRI she wants to add Ativan. If 1/2 of .50 mg of klonapin puts me to sleep I'm scared to think what Ativan will do
I can totally sympathize with you on your issue, I personally take .5 of clonopin 3 times per day, I have learned to cope with the drowsiness and am pretty much over it. I sleep good at night though. The bottom line is you need help with the anxiety, which I have a severe problem with. It seems to me that you need to try something, and maybe the Ativan would be the answer, I can agree that your fear of not being able to stay awake is a legitimate concern. Maybe try 1/2 doses of it at first would be a reasonable answer for you. Certainly I do wish you the best and hope you find an answer for your issue. I don't know if I helped or not but rest assured my intents are the best.
Hi, SSRI's are in the same group as they have the same action/work the same. However, some variations can be more effective than others for some individuals, & a bit of trial & error is sometimes required. However, Ativan & Klonopin are both benzodiazepines, i'm unsure why you have been put on two? At what times have you been advised to take your medications?
