It depends on what you do in a day, and your own metabolism. Rather then counting calories, cut down your diet. And eat like 5 small meals a day rather then the 2 big ones it keeps your metabolism going. Substitute things like ice cream with something with less fat and sugar. Keep carrots and celery cut and ready in your frig to nibble on, they are free of any calories. Use a sandwich plate when you eat, not a dinner plate. Psychologically if we clean the plate we are satisfied, so use a smaller plate. Eat slowly because it takes a bit of time for our stomach to tell our brain its full.
