... that radiates up chest & back. Is this normal? How long does it take for the PE to dissolve? Also, I am taking Lovenox twice a day w/ Coumadin, does this make you very nauseated & cause Headaches?
Thanks for the info. Unfortunately, I go to the VA hospital & they haven't been a whole lot of help. They said my massive clot dissolved within 6 days. I find this hard to believe as I am still in excruciating pain & for a clot to dissolve that fast is unheard of!
How long will I have this sharp stabbing chest pain for? I was just told that the PE damaged bilateral lung tissue, which will turn into scar tissue and can be very painful? This pain is awful & I have absolutely no energy to get anything done. I even had to drop out of my RN transition program & forfeit my job as an nurse.
They also have absolutely no idea how I got it. My guess is that they let me out of the hospital too early when I still had severe pneumonia & I was coughing so hard that I began coughing up blood clots. Could this be the cause of the PE?
This is complete BS. Are you a 100%'er? If so, you have options. Were you seen by a Hematologist, Pulmonologist, and Cardiologist while you were in the hospital? Did they check for a DVT in your legs? How many CT and echo's did they perform while you were in the hospital?
You are going to be in pain for a long while. The issue with your chest pain could be either pulmonary, cardiac, or both. You are going to be tired all day for a month or more depending on your age. You just had a major trauma. You are going to have to take it real easy so do not push it or you will make it worst. If you still have pneumonia I do not know why they released you, that is crazy.
If you are still having symptoms, I would suggest you go back to the hospital and make sure that you are seen by all three of the above type doctors. Do not take No for an answer. You are going to have to throw your weight around when you go to the ER and if you stay again in the hospital. If you want to talk offline then "friend" me.
