I don't know if it's the same in all states but in Texas it's legal as long as you have a prescription. Now it a contradiction in itself because here in Texas you can still get a ticket for driving under the influence. The ticket may or may not be dropped depending on the judge. Crazy huh? I would suggest seeking legal advice.
Pepper Is correct but different states are not all the same. But take it to court and have your bottle and a note from the doctor and you should be okay.with proof that it is legal for you to have.This is also a good reason to have your prescription bottle with you when you are driving and not just a few pills in your pocket.Best of luck.
