Lamotrigine has a "Off Label" use in the treatment of Post Traumatic Stress Disorder. There is one review in the link below.
The known side effects are listed in the following link.
Hi Derek. How are you feeling today?
I've been taking Lamotrigine for six years. Yes, for me it works wonders. The only side affect I have is that it makes feel sick to my stomach. The way I have to take it is to eat solid food with it. Such as a sandwich before you take it. You shouldn't have any probs if you take it that way. I believe it's helped me with PTSD. I don't know if there is a med that will take away the thoughts and feelings of it. The meds may settle you down a bit, though. For me, it's been 6 years ago since I've had a manic episode, at which time I was homeless. We all have our crosses to carry as I'm sure you already know. An additional med that helped me is clonazepam(klonopin.) Together, their a magic combination. Neither meds remove PTSD. The flash backs aren't fun at all, and for me, they happen a lot. I hope that isn't whats happening to you. I pray you find your "magic combination." If you want to discuss this further, we can pq each other. I'd be delighted if we could help each other.
May you have faith, hope and love,
