Psychiatric Disorders - Is it possible to be unaware of ones depression or in denial?

I have bouts of depression daily, really bad lows but then most of the day I feel nothing. Maybe even some fleeting excitement sometimes.
having gone through something slightly similar get your GP if in UK to get you a referral and then you will be diagnosed about a 6 week wait but my talk with this specialist Dr lasted over an hour and was not rushed,i live in Birmingham UK
Yes, it certainly is possible. Sounds like you are aware to a certain extent. If the depression is affecting your daily life functioning then an evaluation by a doctor is advisable.
It's possible the "nothing" is still a form of the disorder. Seek some counseling.
Denial is very common. There's nothing wrong with me is said very often. Do what the others say and see a dr about it.
