I suffered with severe anal itching and chronic pruritus ani for over 5 years. The itching woke me up every night and consumed my life. I found a product called Pranicure and it was nothing short of a miracle. It gave me my life back, but I still have to apply it once every few days and I'm looking for the cure. Does anyone out there know of a supplement or some pill I can take that is an absolute cure for pruritus ani?
I have seen two different doctors for my pruritus ani condition, both of which informed me that there is no official "cure" but a variety of products that will help to relieve the symptoms of chronic anal itching. Normally, I am very trusting of medical professionals, but after trying SEVERAL creams, gels, pills, and hygiene techniques with little to no relief, I now question their knowledge on pruritus ani. In my own desperate search for something else to try, I also came across Pranicure online and figured I had nothing to lose and everything to gain. I've now been using Pranicure for a little over a month now and fortunately I can tell you that it is the ONLY product I've had success with.
You do need to follow the directions and give it a few weeks, but once you do I'm confident that you'll turn a HUGE corner with the constant urge to itch! At first glance, $50 for a 40oz container of ointment sounds like a ripoff, but you don't use very much each time you apply. Plus after the first couple weeks, you use it less and less each week moving forward and therefore I can see it lasting me a long time (I still have over 1/2 left of my first jar and I'm 5 weeks out). It may not be a total "cure" (meaning you may have to continue to use it occasionally for some time), but it is definitely the best product I've found to relieve the anal itching. We are talking about a very sensitive part of your body here…a location totally worth investing a little more money on. Bottom line (pun intended) Pranicure is absolutely worth it!
THANK YOU SOO MUCH!! I read this post last week and immediately ordered Pranicure. I was shocked when it arrived only 2 days later, and even more thrilled after the first application…WOW! The itch is gone!! My story/struggle was not as long nor intense as yours, but my pruritus ani was really getting bad the past few months. I've only been using Pranicure for a couple of days, but I can already tell that it is working and there is light at the end of the tunnel! Thanks so much for your recommendation!!
Protopic 0.1 % or 0.3% work well twice a week pruritus ani
