I have records from 2008. The cost was $628. I'm sorry but I don't know how to do the % cost increase, but I'm pretty sure it's above average for a product. As now it's $3600 for the same amount of pills. For a one month supply. I am fortunate that Medicare covers most of the cost. However, should that ever change (shhhh) it would be obvious i could never afford it. I would like to know if anyone has a system for not getting used to the medication, as Medicare will ONLY COVER 60 pills. No more. As it is I take drug holidays, meaning I don't take them every day. I either don't take them on weekends (so I don't drive) or I'll go without for a week every other month. But then need to take more at the end of the 2nd month. It's kind of a hellish circle. Does anyone have a better system? One that can be consistent, and work. I am sure I'm not the only person in this predicament.
Hi, I know this is a late post. But I just started taking Provigil. I have to take a a break from it myself, otherwise it doesn't work as good as it did at first. Kinda like a child on ADH medication. My doctor did say not to take it the days I don't work. For I use it for staying awake at work. I do like Adderall better for myself. But she said she cannot prescribe this medication. It is a very costly medication. My insurance requires a prior authorization, but it denied mine for some reason. I go to Costco and it's $30.00 dollars for 100mg tablets quantity 30 tablets. So that is a big help. This Medication you can take drug "holidays" it's okay. I find that I do get a headache when I take my Provigil. I also heard some manufacturers are better then others. Also I just want to say that I don't get brand name. That is not $30.00 dollars. Probably why it don't work so great for me.
