Just a bit of information why I got given then all started a year and 6 months ago.my periods got less and less then they stop all together so I saw a doctor about it and they referred me to a consultant and he sent me off to have an ultrasound and CT scan everything's coming up fine then i had an MRI scan and that came back with small cysts on the out line of my ovary but that was nothing to worry about he said but he diagnose me with PCOS and they wanted to do more blood tests and now they have given me these tablets to see if it helps me bleed and I was wondering what people's experience was on them hopfully I'm not the only person experiencin this and what thing I can do
I'm on medroxyprogesterone 10mgs also. I take one pill a day for 6 months. I have alot of fibroids and pre cancerous cell on my uterus. I never had a problem with my cycle besides spotting a few times between periods. I started taking my pills at night just incase of the side effects. When i first started on them which was a month ago. I gained a few pounds but that was fluid and it came off. My stomach cramps sometimes but my cycle is better due to less bleeding. medroxyprogesterone Suppose to start your cycle while taking them. I got mines 10 days after I started them. Just wanted to give you my experience while im taking them. My doctor also said they will shrink the cysts and dissolve my pre cancerous cells. Thats why she prescribed me on medroxyprogesterone for 6 months. Im trying to avoid having a hysterectomy. So good luck on your journey and follow your instructions on your meds as schedule. Don't worry you got this.
I just started taking this again yesterday, although I've been on it several times.
I too have PCOS and I also have endometriosis. I don't ever have a period on my own unless started with birth control or Provera, although they double my dose, so i'm taking 20mg the first 5 days, and then 10mg the other 5 days.
The worst thing about these pills are definitely the side effects. Normally they give me mood swings, hot flashes and night sweats. Once they work, it'll normally be a pretty painful period, but they do what they need to. It will be something you'll get used to. I get put on these about 2-3 times a year.
If you start trying to get pregnant, like my husband and I have been trying for almost 5 years, that's where the real trouble starts. We just started the insemination process which is why i'm on the pills again.
Please don't hesitate to ask me any questions and good luck!
