Hello, I've recently been prescribed with protonix and I haven't got the full effect of it yet. Could I take zantac at night (to get sleep) while waiting for the protonix to kick in?
Can I take protonix with zantac?

Also, I am wondering if the slight nausea and necktightness is being caused by the protonix or acid reflux? Most of my heartburn is gone.
after reading up on protonix, ask your doctor for Prilosec or Nexium. That will stop all the crap that you all are enduring with the tightness of the chest and nausea. i hope you can get a new script and begin to feel better soon!
Protonix should work within days. Really shouldn't need the Zantac. If you are experiencing side effects that are worrisome, contact the doctor and let him/her assess whether it is your reflux or the med causing the problem.
d3m; No not without the doctor there are several other meds that would work for you better than putting your own together, You have to be real careful and have them find out just what is causing you all the problems and the doctor well be the only one that can really help you there please don't take more than one or the other of these ones and have the doctor find out what is going on with you and your stomach etc. Best of luck hope you get to feeling better very soon.Chuck1957 Also make sure the rule out any other medications your taking this encludes vitamins and over the counter products. have a good weekend. chuck
