Coumadin is a very hard drug to keep even. Your intake of foods with vit K can make a difference. Even if you never change your diet, and take the same dose, you end up with a high inr after having been stable for a few weeks. That's just the way that drug is. The value you need to be therapeutic is small, so the dose gets adjusted regularly.
