I get all the usual anxiety-related symptoms before major presentations for work: insanely fast heartbeat, shaky, cold hands, can't think... BUT I also get the worst of it all, the almost immediate need to use the washroom, and NOT to throw up. Believe me, feeling like you're about to get diarrhea right before a presentation doesn't exactly help with the already high levels of anxiety. So my question is: Does anyone else get this and has the drug helped?
Hi Anxiety Sucks-
Like your name. Yes, anxiety sucks! Propranolol is a blood pressure medication. It can be used off label for anxiety. It does not treat anxiety, it treats the symptom of rapid heart rate from anxiety. The thought is if it helps the fight or flight heart rate that all the rest of the symptoms from the anxiety will lessen. It works well for some.
Best way to see if it helps you is to try it. You are not the only one that gets gastrointestinal issue with anxiety.
Hope you find what will work for you.
